Return & Refund Policy
Our commitment to our Schnauzers lasts a lifetime.
Adopting a dog is a major life decision. While our goal is always to facilitate a permanent, loving home, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, or a match may simply not work out as hoped. Our policies are designed to protect the well-being of our dogs above all else.
1. Lifetime Return Guarantee
We make a lifetime commitment to every Schnauzer we rescue. If at any point in the dog’s life you are no longer able to care for them, they must be returned to our shelter.
Under no circumstances may the dog be sold, given away, transferred to another person, or surrendered to an animal control facility or another shelter without our explicit written consent. We will always welcome our dogs back with open arms.
2. Adoption Fee Refund Policy
Adoption fees help us cover the costs of veterinary care, food, and housing for the dogs in our rescue. We understand that the transition period can be challenging, which is why we offer the following refund window:
- Within 14 Days: If the dog is returned to us within the first 14 days of adoption, we will provide a full refund of the adoption fee (minus any processing charges).
- After 14 Days: If the dog is returned after the 14-day trial period, the adoption fee is non-refundable. This fee is considered a donation toward the ongoing care of the dog as they re-enter our shelter.
3. Initial Health Guarantee
While all our dogs undergo thorough veterinary checks before adoption, we strongly encourage you to take your new dog to your own veterinarian within 72 hours of adoption.
If your veterinarian diagnoses the dog with a severe, pre-existing, life-threatening illness within this 72-hour window, you may return the dog for a full refund of the adoption fee, provided you supply an official written statement from the examining veterinarian.
4. How to Initiate a Return
If you are experiencing behavioral issues or challenges, please reach out to us first. We may be able to provide advice, training resources, or support to help keep the dog in your home.
If a return is necessary, please contact us directly via email or phone to arrange a safe surrender. Please do not show up unannounced, as we need to prepare space and resources to welcome the dog back comfortably.
